Atmosphere
Sky Atmosphere belongs to X:VFX. This page describes the fork's atmosphere changes; Volumetric Light documents the separate light-shaft/fog renderer.
Sky Atmosphere Defaults
The default Earth atmosphere uses the more accurate Rayleigh scattering, Rayleigh scale height and ozone absorption parameters
proposed by the community, derived from ARPC
(SkyAtmosphereComponent.cpp). New Sky Atmosphere components get these defaults; existing levels keep their saved values.
These are constructor defaults for new Sky Atmosphere components. Existing maps retain their serialized scattering and absorption settings; updating the engine does not automatically replace them.
Relationship to Volumetric Light
The alternate Volumetric Light path uses Sky Atmosphere settings and is exposed in Control Panel > X:VFX > Volumetric Light. Its enablement, quality and scheduling controls are separate from the atmosphere's physical parameters.
Sky Atmosphere, Flow Fog and the alternate volumetric renderer are distinct systems. These changes do not restore UE4's deprecated Atmospheric Fog renderer.
